1st day
Arrival at the place of sojourn in the late afternoon. Accommodation at the hotel and meeting with our agent. Dinner and overnight.
2nd day
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, guided visit of the archaeological excavations of Pompeii. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, excursion to the Vesuvius volcano reached by bus up to 1,000 m., and on foot up to the crater. Visit to an establishment of Vesuvian viniculture with a degustation of the typical local wines. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight.
3rd day
After breakfast at the hotel, meeting with our touristic guide. Afterwards, transfer to the seaport to embark to Capri. Full day excursion for visiting the island: the worldwide famous Piazzetta, the Augustus Gardens facing the Faraglioni rocks, the Certosa of St. Giacomo, Point Tragara, and Anacapri. It is optional the visit of the Villa St. Michele, once home to the eccentric Swedish doctor and writer Axel Munthe, or the excursion to the Blue Grotto. Lunch at a panoramic restaurant, and free time for shopping. Embarkation back to Sorrento, and return to the hotel. Dinner, and overnight. After dinner, it is possible to attend a Sorrentine Tarantella show at a local nightclub.
4th day
Breakfast at the hotel, and departure to Naples. Meeting with the touristic guide and visit of the city: the noted churches at the historical center (the duomo and San Gennaros Chapel, San Domenico Maggiore, San Lorenzo Maggiore, San Gregorio Armeno, San Severos Chapel, noted for its Cristo velato statue, Santa Chiara with its majolica cloister, and Gesù Nuovo). Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit to Piazza Municipio, piazza Plebiscito, the Maschio Angioino fortress, Umberto I Gallery, and the maritime promenade of Mergellina up to the Posillipo hill. Visit to a famous Neapolitan bakery to taste the real Neapolitan coffee and a traditional partenopean cake. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight.
5th day
Breakfast at the hotel, and departure for a guided excursion along the Amalfi Coast. First stop at the Belvedere of Positano to admire the wonderful landscape. The tour proceeds through the villages of Praiano and Conca dei Marini to Amalfi, that is the oldest maritime republic in Italy. Visit of the Duomo, with its almost millenarian door, and of the annexed Paradise Cloister. Lunch at a typical restaurant. In the afternoon, it is optional the visit to the Emerald Grotto. Afterwards, departure to the village of Ravello and visit to Villa Rufolo. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight. Musical evening at a piano bar.
6th day
After breakfast, departure and end of the tour. It is optional the visit to Caserta, or Pozzuoli, or Cassino, for groups back to North Italy, or the visit to Vietri sul mare, or Paestum, or Velia for those back to the South.
End of the tour.
Instead of the excursion by road along the Amalfi Coast, we suggest the mini-cruise by private motorboat from Sorrento to Amalfi, visiting the village of Positano and the Emerald Grotto (return by road).
